IPW VF5: FS Preview Stream Day Three feat. LA Akira, Shidosha & Sasuraiger

I ran another quick Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown stream today and this time around we got to check out how the lobby system works. While I was a little confused at first, we quickly figured out how to keep the rotation going. LA Akira and myself had some good fights against each other and we also had the chance to play versus Shidosha and Sasuraiger -- both who live in the East Coast. The connection was totally playable and about what you would expect from a game with solid netcode when playing cross-country.

This week at Starbase Arcade I will be featuring FT10s in SSF4 AE 2012. The stream will start around 930pm pst and continue until about 1am, so make sure to check out the action! All of the links are listed below and make sure you follow me on twitter for info on the FT10 matches and when they will start.

Starbase is located at 1545 San Rafael, CA. Its 5 dollars for all night play and there are always plenty of set ups to go around the only thing that we need help with is arcade sticks so if you plan on stopping by make sure to bring your arcade stick! Chaos Code Now Playable at Southtown Arcade

A while back we made a number of posts about an arcade fighting game "that you'll probably never play". That game is Chaos Code and guess what? Looks like I was dead wrong! It's now available to play at Southtown Arcade here in San Francisco, CA! They just set up the game yesterday and it's good to go on a head-to-head set up! If you live in the area, swing by and check it out! HYPE!

We'll be sure to work this game into the streaming schedule somehow but in the meantime check out some gameplay videos by clicking here.

Southtown Arcade Ranbats S4.4 Results & Replays feat. Heroic (Amazing Iron Fist), STA WindZero, IGL HonzoGonzo, BBZ, Hellpockets, Leezy & More!

I know many of you weren't able to catch this weekend's set of ranbats at Southtown Arcade due to everything else that was going on -- and that's fine! All the replays are now live on our YouTube Channel and feature some amazing matches all around.

Notably you have to check out the Saturday Night Snapback UMVC3 matches with Heroic as he brought the heat with one of the best Iron Fists I've seen. Crispy Tacoz, STA WindZero and IGL HonzoGonzo also had some great fights as well but there can only be one champion. Check out the long Grand Finals set between STA WindZero and IGL HonzoGonzo to see who came out on top.

If you're a fan of DeeJay, be sure to watch the SSF4 matches. It seemed like every other match featured DeeJay this weekend, but did they have what it takes to defeat the likes of SBA Harrison and Hoodaman?

Of course, even on a slower weekend KOFXIII brought the hype. Hellpockets and myself had some down to the wire matches, not to mention some huge upsets throughout the tournament with many other players. Don't miss it if you're a fan of KOFXIII!

And big surprise, Leezy blew through the CvS2 competition once again. Watch those replays to see him branch out with characters such as Dhlasim and E. Honda.

IGN Pro League to Begin DOA5 Tournament Series at E3

Those hungry for a longer look at Team NINJA's Dead or Alive 5 can look forward to E3 next week, where Team NINJA and the IGN Pro League will be streaming a tournament of the latest build of the game. The event will kick off June 5th at 1 p.m. PST and the stream will be available at doa.ign.com. Entrants will be able to use 12 characters in this build of the game, which means we'll be seeing some unrevealed fighters make their debut come E3. The tournament is the first in a series of IPL contests, and will culminate with a grand finals this September to coincide with the game's release.

Persona 4: Arena Console Release Date Pushed to July 26th

Andria Sang is reporting that the Japanese console release date for Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena has been changed from early August to July 26th. While there is no word on the date changing for North America, keep in mind that Persona 4: Arena is now directly competing with the console release of EXAMU's crossover fighter AquaPazza which also comes out on the same day for PS3.

UMVC3: Count the Level 3 Hyper Combos in Heroes & Heralds is Broken Vol. 2

EndlessComboz posted up a UMVC3 video showcasing a number of ridiculous combos in the Heroes & Heralds mode. These combos range from what seems like an endless amount of Shin Shoryukens from Ryu to an armada of Drones from Sentinel. Check it out for the combos and stick around for the fresh tunes!

Daigo Umehara to Compete at CEO2012

Alex Jebailey, tournament organizer for Community Effort Orlando, announced on Cross Counter Live tonight that Daigo Umehara will be competing in CEO2012. While last year we saw quite a bit of Daigo at majors all over the country, this year has been a little different as EVO2011 was the last North American tournament that Daigo competed in.

It's a given that he will participate in SSF4: AE VER. 2012 but it will be interesting to see if he plays UMVC3 as well, though in many interviews he's made it clear that SSF4 is still his main focus.

Jebailey also mentioned that international players CCG Air, Kayane and Gamerbee will also be attending CEO2012.

GameSpot posted up a nice 25 minute preview video for Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown featuring none other than the admin of VirtuaFighter.com, Myke! He talks about his experiences at Shadowloo Showdown briefly before getting into the game mechanics and what is new in Final Showdown compared to previous entries in the series. Nico Nico Video App Available for PS Vita Today

Sony announced on their blog today that the popular Japanese video and streaming service Nico Nico is now available for the PS Vita. This app will allow you to view videos and overlay time stamped comments much like the web service.

This is great news for fighting game fans with PS Vitas due to the fact that there are so many streams exclusively on Nico Nico. Navigating their site in Japanese and setting up an account can be a bit of a hassle for some of us too, so this should make it easier to check out various fighting game streams such as the Topanga League, Super Battle Opera 2012 and many others.

2nd TOPANGA Online Tournament Featuring Larger Player Count To Fight Against The Best

The TOPANGA group announced a new online tournament for Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition Ver. 2012 but instead of folks like Daigo, Sako and Haitani playing, it's going to feature more yet less notable players in Japan's scene climbing to fight the greats.

All of the players in the tournament represent a "B league" (first tournament featured A league). 56 of those will fight each other in hope to qualify for the A league. The top two players of the B league will replace Kindevu and RF of A league and later attempt to eliminate Tokido and Bonchan on July 1st.
