It's that time again -- time to put all these online turbo users on blast! YogaFlame24 just released another video exposing a number of players abusing the turbo function online in Super Street Fighter 4. It's funny to watch some of these players even taunt their opponent as if they actually landed a win purely based on skill! Check out the video below.
One of the tournament's Top 8 matches is embedded in this article, but more videos are expected to be uploaded to AI's Youtube channel very soon. Until then, enjoy the show!

Gametrailers TV featured Mortal Kombat, and as promised it had a lot of new information about the game as well as some exclusive reveals! Jax has been confirmed to be in the line-up and the Subway stage returns from Mortal Kombat 3. JrockEclipse was kind enough to share what he saw on the program, via SRK. The first screen cap of Jax from the show has also come in. We look forward to more screens and/or video from the show to surface. For now, here are the details!
Super Street Fighter 4 producer Yoshinori Ono tweeted today that the arcade version of Super Street Fighter 4 has essentially "gone gold" -- or is now complete from a development standpoint. The game is slated to be released in Japanese arcades in December. More than that, it's rumored that a handful of arcades in the US will have the game and many of us can expect to see the game at these locations around this time as well.
Wow! So this really came out of nowhere and is an awesome treat for all of us fighting game fans. Red Rapper aka Zaid Tabani put together an awesome documentary about the current state of the fighting game scene and how it got to where it is today. Lots of great interviews with players such as Alex Valle and James Chen. The best part is that this is only the first episode! Check out the full video after the break!
It is an amazing game and is well worth the price, for sure. Sure you may find a used copy here or there for a bit cheaper, but also consider that you will have this game at your fingertips right on your hard-drive, so there is no need to get off your couch to change the disc. That's got to be worth a few bucks right there!
It also has online code which is pretty good as well. If memory serves, this was one of the first fighting games to actually have decent online play.
The EVO Championship Series continues to expand. This time, they are presenting their first ever online tournament! Now you don't have to worry about taking time off work and spending lots of money on travel and other accommodations, you can participate from home!
What is the ultimate prize? A trip to EVO 2011! The prize also includes airfare and accommodations. The first event will be on Xbox 360. The tournament will begin on December 11, 2010 at 12pm PST. The finalists will be showcased on a live stream on Saturday, December 18th, which will have commentators and everything else you expect from a quality stream. Following the tournament finals, Galaxy4Gamers will run their beat-a-pro contest, where you can try your skills against top players for prizes. Entry fee is $5, but it could be the best $5 you ever spent if you win!
Here is the overview of the event, courtesy of SRK's Mr. Wizard:
IPW Topic of the Week: Should The Conduct of Stream Commentators and Tourney Players Be More Professional?
Seasons Beatings 5: Redemption was an amazing tournaments with many epic moments. However, there were some incidents regarding conduct, both from official stream commentary and from players in the tournament, which have stirred up debate in the fighting game community.
So, what do you think it is in the best interests of the community for our stream commentators to act more professional, like a sports broadcast? Do you think it's in the best interests that players act more professional and be more "humble?". Do you think it's in the community's best interests that things remain as they are, where commentators and players can say what they wish "in the moment", regardless of how it will come across to the thousands of viewers at home? Or is there some in spot in between that you think we should strive to achieve?
What is the correct balance of professionalism and hype?
Thanks to Spiron for an excellent topic! Have an idea for a future topic? Hit the thread in the IPW Forum and let us know! If you missed last week's topic, "When will Super Street Fighter 4 be Dethroned?", check it out here!
MLG released a statement today saying they are banning two top Smash players -- Mew2King and ADHD -- from the MLG Dallas finals due to a fixed match. The MLG rules state that players may not engage in “intentional Forfeiting or conspiring to manipulate Rankings or Brackets". Apparently some shady business went down at MLG D.C., and after an investigation, MLG decided to ban the two players from the competition. Read more about it by clicking here.
Now, we don't typically ever post about Smash Bros. on iPlayWinner, but this is relevant to the fighting game scene as a whole. Believe it or not, fixing and throwing matches is a very common occurrence in tournament play, unfortunately.
They're just using XBL for what it is good for: just messing around and having a good time... and they are having a good time! It's pretty fun to watch.
This week features shenanigans at Seasons Beatings 5 and the debut of Gootecks' scrub-tastic day 1 Chun Li!
A new video has surfaced featuring Dead or Alive Dimensions for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS hand-held system. What's very interesting about this video is that it isn't a promo trailer. It's footage of someone holding the system in his hands and actually playing the game!
The video also clearly shows the character select screen. It has 25 total character slots, with 4 being filled currently.
Check out the video after the jump. The footage of Dead or Alive Dimensions starts at 1:50. Thanks to IMNEXTONLINE.com for the tip!

BLG JuiceBox just released his newest podcast of 'Juicy Bits' episode 9. This podcast is dedicated to preaching about Zoning. Juicebox talks about the basics of zoning and a couple special specific character zoning tools in SSF4. This is a very good listen to learn or re-learn about Zoning in fighting games.
Juicebox also takes the time to answer a couple questions that 'Juicy Bit' listeners have sent in for him to answer.

On the fence about buying the new pack of alternate costumes for Super Street Fighter 4? If so, you might want to check out this video by C5Onutube which showcases the different colors for Makoto, Dudley, Hakan, Guy and Dee Jay. I'm torn on which one I like best. At first I wasn't a fan of the Makoto alt but I think it looks pretty cool in action! Either way, check out the full video below.
SNK-Capcom.com had a chance to meet up with SNK Playmore USA about King of Fighters XIII, and extracted a few details about the eventual console release of the game. First off, they say the online play is going to be "kick-ass", and I certainly hope so because KOFXII's online play was anything but. They also mention don't expect the game in the immediate future, but closer to Q1 2011.
Not sure where along the line I missed series one of this, but the Mortal Kombat team just released a new MKast where the developers sit down and talk about the process of creating the game. They get into different subjects like what goes into balancing characters and what it's like to be working with Warner Bros. Check out the full video after the break!
A Translation of the newest Japanese Super Street Fighter 4 Developers Blog is here courtesy of Street11. Today they talk about the changes made for Ryu, Boxer, C. Next post will be about the changes made to Ken, Claw, Rufus, Fei Long, and Juri.
Wow, the list of international superstars attending SoCal Regionals keeps on growing! Not only will Sako be in attendance, but Tokido is now confirmed to attend this event as well! Tokido is obviously one of the best Akuma players in the world, but little known fact is that he is no slouch at Tekken 6 as well so keep an eye on his performance at SCR!
Oh, and word on the street is the madness wont stop here. Though nothing is official yet, looks like there may be a few more surprises right around the corner. See you guys there!
