Marvel vs Capcom 3 Story on Eurogamer Featuring Ryoto Niitsuma

There is a nice story on Marvel vs Capcom 3 over at Eurogamer. It features some interview quotes by the game's producer, Ryoto Niitsuma, and is a pretty interesting read.

One part that really caught my attention is the following quote. Hit the link to read the whole article.

"Everyone had a Level 3 initially," Niitsuma says, "but because we wanted to continue the tradition of a purposely unbalanced roster, we intentionally left a few characters out. They don't all have an over-the-top style, and for these characters, we balanced it out by adding in something else."

So we're about two weeks out from Marvel vs Capcom 3 finally being unleashed into the wild, and outside of any other potential DLC character announcements, we know the full roster of the game as well. Even without DLC characters, the game sports an impressive cast of both old and new faces from both universes, but are you satisfied?

Turn Your Netbook Into an Mini-Arcade Cabinet With Nanocade

I saw this on the Keystone IRC chat via Engadget today and thought it was pretty slick. This is more or less and casing for a netbook that turns it into a min-arcade cabinet -- it's even laced up with Sanwa and Seimetsu buttons! That said, I'm not sure if most netbooks out there are juiced up enough to play games like Third Strike or even older CPS2 games, but it's worth checking out either way.

The kit will be available in March and will go for about $349 plus shipping. Check out more details by clicking here

Melty Blood Developer To Reveal New Game Next Week

Melty Blood development studio Ecole Software will be in attendance at Hydra GP next week, a Melty Blood-focused tournament over in Akihabara. According to Andriasang, Ecole is set to make an announcement for an all-new game at some point during the event. The teaser doesn't give a hint as to what it'd be, but considering it's set to be announced at a fighting game tournament, you can safely assume that it'll be some form of a fighting game.

The event kicks off on February 6 at Club Sega in Akihabara. We'll let you know as soon as we hear more.

Darkstalkers 3 Coming to Japanese PSN Game Archives

We reported last friday that Star Gladiator and Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness would be headed to the Japanese PSN's Games Archives, and now there's word that those lucky jerks over in Japan are getting yet another gem from Capcom's fighting game library: Darkstalkers 3, or as it's known over there, Vampire Savior EX Edition.

So far there's no word on a release date or a price for the PS1 port. As Siliconera points out in their report, Star Gladiator and Darkstalkers 3 have at least a shot of making their way over to the US PlayStation Store as both titles have already been localized. One can hope, right?

GameSpot Marvel vs Capcom 3 Tournament Highlights Part 1

Updated on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 1:22PM by Registered CommenterKumo

GameSpot held a 64-man pre-release tournament for Marvel vs Capcom 3 recently, where IPW's own Haunts, Darry and RogerDoger were in attendance. The first of several videos highlighting some of the matches from the event is up on YouTube, which you can find below. Other videos will be released every Friday leading up to the release of Marvel vs Capcom 3, so that'll give us -- me especially -- something to hold us over until the big day.

The first video showcases several matches from the tournament as it rounds down to the top 16 and also includes some choice words from the one and only Seth Killian. Give it a look!

The Salty Runback : He Got The Mango Sentinel Edition

I have seen the future. It wears a curley moustache.

Today, I drove up to San Francisco and met up with Haunts and Rogerdodger to play in GameSpot.com's Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament. Despite having been present at, and doing commentary for, more than one event since Evo where the game was playable, I hadn't gotten any time on the buttons. My exposure to the game was limited to drooling over match videos, then acting offended and claiming a severe mental disability brought on by a recent stroke when my friends mocked me for sitting with my mouth as open as a barn door while salivating down the front of my shirt.

I finished Top Eight.
