Official XBox Live Arcade website PlayXBLA has announced that the Killer Instinct trademark has been renewed by Microsoft Studios. Here's a quote from the post.

Our legal eagles have authorized us to say: “We have either renewed or refiled a trademark application in various jurisdictions.”

The formerly popular franchise has been dormant since the mid-1990s, since then fans have been requesting a sequel to this cult classic. It might be time for the original Ultra combo to make its return!
