« Tokido Has Two Secret Weapons for EVO2K11 »

Fresh off of his exceedingly strong showing at CEO, Tokido has updated his blog, Tokido's Laboratory: Confessions of a Murder Face. He credits his wins to simply "a lot of practice." He mentions that the player he feared most was PR Rog (in AE) and considers himself lucky to have not met Eduardo in the brackets. The most intersting claim he makes is that he has TWO secrets in MvC3 that he is holding close to his chest. I guess the era of STSFN isn't over quite yet. Find out what happened to Tokido in MK9 and more details after the break or check out the full blog here.

As for MK9, Tokido was registered to compete, but he backed-out because he was afraid the US players were too strong for him. In BlazBlue, he claims he "blew up" the other players with his supreme footsies. Lastly, he gives credit to the US Tekken players who relegated him to third place.

@PAL well without his secret weapons hes dominated so far so i wouldnt doubt him in EVO. Everyone thought the US has a nice head start on the MvC games but i guess it doesnt make a difference because if that was the case there was no way tokido shouldve domintated like he did at CEO.

I find it highly interesting that he mentioned PR Rog as his most feared opponent. I'm guessing he's keeping Final Round very close to his chest along with those secrets.

Secret 1) He figured out a way to pick Wolverine three times on the character select screen.

Secret 2) He figured out a way to pick Phoenix three times on the character select screen.

Everyone praises the Japanese for being humble and 'respectful' at tourneys, and for not holding on to secrets and stuff... But Tokido hyping up the crowd with that raging demon pose at SoCal regionals, and now secret hording. Here's a Japanese player we can really get behind :P

i cant belive how many people cry on phoenix..
Everyone says wolvy is the best and the strongest charc. of mvc3 and they still cry about phoenix.
Phoenix is all about risk.
And if justin or marn or whoever pick up phoenix he ll has a huge risk and he may not come to the top 4

@ Fasho

Lets not kid ourselves, Tokido is kinda like the Tomonobu Itagaki (Dead or alive/Ninja Gaiden guy) of the FGC.

He's pretty much trying to be more American and ballsy with how he acts.

Besides, most top players have secrets. Remember the saying: "Save that **** for Nationals"?

@DEFT how is phoenix all about risk when your a good pheonix player? There is a reason why so many people are using phoenix and finding sucess with her which is dark phoenix with X-Factor level 3. Of course people who main phoenix are going to justify that she might not be as good as so many people perceive.

Its common sense use two characters your really good with or that are good in the game in general then save phoenix for last. Lots of players are having sucess with that strategy and by that i mean going far in or winning tournaments. Im not saying shes not unbeatable or a cheap character however i dont think anyone should down play how good she is.

My only real complaint is X-Factor.
