Hey guys, I just wanted to make a quick post about the recent changes around here. Over the past few years we've tried a lot of different layouts and ideas while taking stock of user feedback -- we're doing out best to implement all that feedback in this new design.
Our major goal moving forward at iPlayWinner is to enable our users to access content much more quickly and effectively. You'll notice a lot of the clutter is gone from the site -- we'll try to keep it that way even with all the new features we are rolling out. Yes, we have some new sections and features we will be rolling out in the very near future so stay tuned.
A note about the navigation bar, each section along the top will allow you to access certain areas of iPlayWinner and navigate through games on each launch page. You can easily now filter out news for certain games, screenshots and more.
As many of you read, our article format for the front page is changing a bit too. We are trying our best to keep things really light weight around here so you can quickly jump to what you're interested in checking out.
For those of you wondering, this is actually the third revision of iPlayWinner. What started out as my small blog covering the NorCal Street Fighter 4 arcade scene has now grown into one of the largest fighting game websites on the internet. As we continue to grow it becomes difficult sometimes to see what we need to change and adjust, so please continue voice your opinions and let us know what you want to see moving forward. We're nothing without the people who support us -- both online and off.
Lastly, see the site in it's current state as a beta. Please post up in comments or email me at admin@iplaywinner.com if anything looks funky or you feel a change needs to be made.
Either way, one thing that hasent changed is our passion for fighting games and covering the scene on an international level. We'll continue to bring our users top quality content through 2010 and beyond.

The formatting is great, very easy to get to the sections we want read-up on. However, it feels a little plain on the front page, perhaps some background designs to catch attention?
OH! Can we add avatars for us members?
oh yeah what happened to the web links and forums?
Links will be back but on separate page -- it was sprawling down the side bar before and I don't think that is the best solution. Forums didn't see much action and we are looking for more of an integrated system int he future. We'll probably stay away from having too many images on static parts of the site to reduce loading times, though I kinda miss Juri too. :P
We're putting more effort into the day to day articles and have the overall design support those so the site continues to look fresh and new each day. Hope that makes sense.
hmmm...the banner. can you splice it so that each corresponding image would go to the guide page of that game?
my first instinct was to click the SSF4 image for SSF4 or MVC3 for MVC3. and then i finally figured out it was all just one banner.
either that or make the navigation more prominent.
i think that would help, otherwise looks great.
^ or even have it go to subnavigation of NEWS | GUIDE | SCREENSHOTS | ARTWORK | TIER LIST or something. :o i just want to click the pictures lol. like...really bad.

Yeah I am going back and forth on what to do there. I'm thinking having it send you to the games overview page is probably the best idea since the information for each game varies.

Very nice, is there a way for there to be a rotating background/sidebar image? That way, everytime you're at a page, the sidebar or background or whatever rotates out from, for example: Chun Li, Juri, Sagat, Terry Bogard, Kazuma, Ragna, Noel etc.

Good job on the site update! The site really needed to speed up - I was blocking half the things on the site so it would load in a decent amount of time - and the new look is very clean.

My computer can now load the site with only somewhat of a slowdown now instead of down to a crawl. Site looks a lot cleaner too instead of as cluttered like it was. Great work, guys.
The site is so much cleaner and faster. You've definitely done a great job with that in my opinion. Too many fighting sites feel cluttered and overwhelming.
I will say that I think the site may have lost some of it's visual personality(if that makes sense). Perhaps it is a bit too clean?
IPW is my go to site for all my fighter news. Keep up the awesome work!
The site looks great! I like that the site stops loading pre-recorded ustream videos (life saver for people with crappy bandwidth), but the blurring of the iplaywinner icon when the stream is offline is a little distracting when I'm trying to read an article. Just a nit-pick.

As you can see I stripped down a lot of the crap, but I'll be building things back up again over the next few months.
This confused me for a moment. I though I accidently logged on to SRK at first glance. lol
It looks a bit like SRK now.
