1UP.COM: HAUNTS REVIEWS BLAZBLUE: CONTINUUM SHIFT

I wanted to give our readers here a heads up that I reviewed BlazBlue: Continuum Shift for 1UP.com. I spent a lot of time with the game recently and was really pleased to see all the additions not only to the characters and gameplay system, but the training modes as well. This is a major improvement over BlazBlue: CT, so if you're a fan of the series or have just been curious about how it plays but never tried Calamity Trigger, Continuum Shift is a solid buy.

Here is a small excerpt from the review, you can read the rest by clicking here.

Another area that Continuum Shift really shines in is its Tutorial and Challenge mode, an excellent way for new players to learn the game and even help veterans learn new characters quickly. The Challenge and Tutorial modes lie somewhere between Super Street Fighter 4's Challenge mode and Virtua Fighter 4's robust training mode (which actually taught you how to play the game properly). Continuum Shift's Tutorial Mode will teach you everything from basic strategies on how to use normal attacks from their most effective ranges to even more advanced mix-up strategies that can be used against other human opponents. After exploring the Tutorial Mode, you can head over to the Challenge Mode where the game runs you through many practical combos to get you ready for battle.

Sounds really interesting. I wish i knew an arcade that had blazblue.

Wow, the training mode sounds really in depth, hopefully it doesn't disappoint the tutorials that came with CT while a commendable idea ultimately left me wanting. If this is top notch maybe i can finally learn how to play carl lol.

I'm really glad to hear that they added all of these features to the game. In my opinion it will make the game a lot more inviting to those that haven't played, and it will also boost the value to those that already play BlazBlue.

I was pleasantly surprised by the tutorial mode. It goes into surprising depth, and even during the Intermediate portion I was already learning a couple things I didn't know.

The tutorial mode makes such a difference. I'm learning about so many things I never would have discovered on my own. I may actually switch my main character because of what I've learned.

I'm with you guys on the tutorial mode and the challenge mode, I tried to get into calamity trigger just to have another game to play with sf4 but it was sooo overwhelming. Now I feel like I can actually learn how to play the game and I'm liking it so far.
