« SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4 COMING TO NINTENDO 3DS »
How will the game take advantage of the system's capabilities? 3D implementation in some way? I've just received word over Twitter that there was a mention of Super Street Fighter 4 during the CAPCOM slide for the Nintendo 3DS reveal. Wes Phillips, Capcom PR, also confirmed "Street Fighter" is coming to the DS. Nintendo's Press Site also lists a Super Street Fighter 4 3D Edition (name not final) as a third party title for the system. It's coming folks.
Considering Street Fighter 4 was developed for the iPhone, this isn't a huge shock that CAPCOM is making a 3DS port of the game, but the big question is: how will it control? Will it be a somewhat classic control interface or some interaction with the stylus? Will there be 3D elements in game -- perhaps 3D Ultras -- or just a lo-res version of what is already on 360/PS3?
We'll update this post if any new information pops up in the following days!

Just saw this image on 4chan, not really sure where it came from originally or if it's official, but it was in a thread that linked to Nintendo's E3 page where people could download a bunch of PDFs of various Nintendo information, so it could be real.

Also, the game is Super Street Fighter 4: 3D Edition
i thought the 3ds was an april fools prank?
I'm definately gonna get a 3DS, but I'm probably gonna pass on this game. The graphics bother me too much and I can't imagine the controls are going to be as comfortable, and I'm a pad player as well.
I have no clue if it will be good or not but more fighting games on more systems is hot stuff Sirs Be very hype to be a fighter fan and player right now.
Side note the 3DS looks godlike Nintendo might have won E3 this year, still have to see what sony has
First off: The Nintendo Press Conference was FUCKING EPIC! So much awesome stuff. I'm so hyped!
Of course I'm also hype for the 3DS and the fact that SSFIV will make it to that system. I'm sure they will at least include the OPTION of using the classic control scheme using buttons only and I'm sure it will be a practical game. And since the one thing the DS lacks is good fighting games (please name a few, I only know of Jump Ultimate Heroes and even that is mainly good because of the awesome cast), so anything decent in that genre is welcome and pretty much bought in my book.
Looks okay wonder how the controls will work
Personally I'm looking forward to this. I love portable fighting games because I can play them whenever I want. I have no problem using shoulder buttons for attacks so that's not a problem for me at all. My only concern is the D-Pad, the one on the DS Lite sucks ass for fighting games. The D-Pad on the 3DS looks a million times better though. I'm keeping an eye on this one.
Sorry to be the Killjoy, but does Nintendo aim to kill it's fans by releasing a New/Superior DS every six months?!?
Now before you guys start calling me Cheap or asshole or somthing hear me out. I'm an old school gamer born in 1979. I've owned just about every system ever made. And I'm currently rocking a PS3.
I've also purchased a Wii and Four DS's for my kids! I love games and want them to enjoy them as well. While the DS lite's and XL's will serve them well, it would be nice to have the latest and greatest for more than a few months.
I also understand upgrading a product, but the 3DS was obviously in Development when they started pushing the XL. I know Nintendo is a buisness and needs to make money, but C'mon guys, it's at least a little screwed up. We aren't talk a 20.00 or even 60.00 dollar upgrade. We're talking 100.00's here.
Sorry, I feel a little ripped.
@Joppula
Have you ever heard of "planned obsolescence"? It's exactly the sort of thing you're talking about. At the very least, this one seems to be the last for a while. I mean, what else can they do to it now? And what the hell is that thing above the d-pad?
(Come to think of it, planned obsolescence may also explain TvC.)
I don't blame you, though. I feel the same way.
As for Super Street Fighter 4: 3D Portable Extra Long Title Edition, I at least hope it's accurate enough to the console versions that I can use it to practice on the go. If it does some sort of 3D fanciness, we better see a patch for the console versions that makes that happen there too.
if theres online ... ima jizz my pants
@Joppula; The 3DS actually has far better graphical capabilities than the regular DS. Heck, the Metal Gear Solid game looks better than on the PSP, and it apparently isn't a cutscene, I'm unable to view stuff on Tinypic so I can't say myself but people who can view it do say it's in game. Anyway, the 3DS is actually meant to be considered a system on it's own rather than a new DS. I really do wish they named it something else. Personally I think it would help if you associated the name 3DS with the name 3D Screen instead of 3rd DS because in reality it's like the transition from the GBC to the GBA. Granted they didn't add shoulder buttons as the DS already have them, and instead added a nub, like the PSP but better, and a motion sensor as well as a gyro thingy.
The 3DS is also backwards compadable so you can play your old games on it. Also, I think it's rather silly to buy every new iteration. I don't understand why anybody would buy a DSiXL if they have a perfectly functional DS or DSi. If you buy every iteration than I don't consider you cheap at all. But you do have a lot of kids to buy for so perhaps you bought every new iteration so each of your kids would have something to play with. I can understand that.
TL;DR; It's like the jump from the GBC to the GBA, and I think people who buy every iteration of a handheld are sillies. That is, unless their old handheld lost a large part of it's functionality like my DS Phat, or they have a million kids to please.
Also, not directed towards anyone, I forgot to mention that a Bleach fighting game I have controls like a normal fighting game but they have the Specials and Supers on the touch screen so they can easily be used. I think Capcom may employ something like in this game. They simplified the Ultras in the iPhone version so it wouldn't surprise me if they did something like that here.
You guys make it sound like the 3DS ist just another DS like the lite, DSi and XL were. That is wrong! It's a completely new system with stronger hardware etc etc.
Another important thing to note is that there were rumors going around everywhere abot the 3DS before the XL was even released in the US and Europe. It was your choice if you really wanted to buy yet another DS or just keep on using the one you got and save the money for the next generation handheld.
It's not like Nintendo has announced any exclusive Nintendo DS XL games or given you any reason to buy one if you do not already own a DSi.
There is nothing wrong with announcing the 3DS now. Blame yourself!
Edit: Kujo was faster than me.
Who cares? Just announce the goddamn PC version already!
Thnx for the feedback guys. Guess I could have held on to my money and waited for the "next best" DS, the 3DS in this case. But with that rational I guess we could just skip this one as well.
Because with the DS, Lite, DSI, DSIXL coming one after another we can assume a "Bigger Better" 3DS will be out in six to eight months. :(
I live in Michigan were the jobs market is rough and the money is "lite" lol. I'm just getting a little tired of Nintendo to be honist. IHMO Sony has the best product on the market.
@Joppula; I know I'm not about to change your mind any time soon, but what you said got me curious. Do you consider the GBA the "next best" GBC? You don't have to respond but I am very curious. Your choice is fine, I'm just curious since you once again called the 3DS the "next best DS" even though it's like the transition from GBC to GBA rather than DS Phat to DS Lite or DS to DSi. But whatever, no sweat off my back. Not like I know you in real life.
