« Special Video Tribute to Street Fighter IV »

On April 27 we say goodbye to a dear friend. Yes, the release of Super Street Fighter IV is most definitely something to celebrate, but we can't ever forget just how much the original Street Fighter IV boosted the fighting game community. From its debut in the arcades to the incredibly successful console release, Street Fighter IV blew the doors off what was once a considerably tough community to crack and I for one am glad for that.

For as much as I'm praising SF4, it's by no means a perfect game. In fact, at times its a downright silly display of dumb luck and head-scratching nonsense. Super Street Fighter IV fixes a lot of these instances but no doubt, in time we'll discover new quirks in which to ragequit over. But for now, let's take a look back and pay respect to the game that brought us all together. Also, don't forget to stay tuned after the credits!

Good night, sweet prince; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

So many emotions going on. It's a bitter sweet goodbye. Seeing the Sagat portions almost made me shed a tear. Indestructible is what cheered me up some. LOL. Personally I like the SF4 char select music better. Well done!!! But when you know what we gotta do. KEEP IT MOVIN'!!!

Beautiful =(
Anyway: I'm pretty sure I've seen the slapchop in some SSFIV matches.

A part of me misses Indestructible. Only the idea of it being gone makes me sad though since the new music is much better, imo.

I LOL'ed when you poured the 40 on the game box. Well done.

Thanks for the kind words all. I edited the original post to point out that there's a little additional footage after the credits ;)

Awesome video. Very well done. (I nearly cried *sniff*) I will miss you vanilla... I will miss you...

I also loved the part at the end with the game crazy stickers on the vanilla box sitting outside the window :) Haha, great!

great video!!! though some people complain that dp trade ultra still exists. Anyone can confirm this?

April 23, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSOyun

As a Honda player, the "Infinite Sadness" really touched me... Great vid!

April 23, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterRvo2099

Trade Ultra does still exist, but its nowhere near as sticky as it was in SF4 since you typically need to have them flying towards the corner to get it. Although, that's just the shotos. Dudley seems to get it just as easily ;)

Best parts were Wiz vs. floE footrace and the 40oz. Great shot at the end and nice compilation.

Here's to the scene that we all built together.

April 23, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterFudd

gimme da chocolate!

April 24, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterFuzz

I can just see it. In about 5 years from now, we'll look on YouTube and reminisce about SF4 and SSF4 just like we now reminisce about alpha 3 and 3rd strike.

Thats was sick! good work!

Im definitely gonna miss Indestructible. That song grew on me and I always sing along everytime I hit up my SF4 copy. T_T

April 24, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterInsane

You know Insane the song grew on me too. I understand why they would not put in super but i am going to miss booting up SF4 and hearing that song play.

Good by Street fighter 4! i put my final matches last night. stopped at 5,000 on the nose with 2772 wins. Nothing great but nothing bad i suppose. I poured so much time into this game and if i was to add up the game time i every other game from last year i think SF would beat them all combined.

In the end we need to always remember what SF4 did. their are fighting game fans who hate on SF4 but here is the fact. SF4 got competitive fighting games cracking again. A stream with 9k viewers like last night Justin Vs Diago would not have taken place 2-3 years ago. The hype that sf has got as also helped out other games. I really believe in my heart that it helped get MvC 3 made. It helped melty blood get to evo . I could go on and on but thank you to the makers of SF4 for ending the long cold winter fighters were in. At one point new fighting games did not look to be coming out. Now we are getting a ton. Its a damn good time to be part of the scene! on what ever scale you are.

April 24, 2010 | Registered CommenterSpiron

wow, best SF4 movie ever. This is real master piece

April 24, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterBalzako

@Spiron & Insane It's damn catchy. "I can feel it comin' over me, I feel it all arrrrrouuuunndd meee..." I left it on the start menu and it was playing for like an hour. My god. When I started up the game I would plan ahead on what mode I was gonna play and to it as fast as possible just to avoid any part of the song. Haha. Goodbye Indestructible. I only liked the character select remix, that's what I'll miss. =P

April 24, 2010 | Registered CommenterNagglepuss

Should have also added the Liston boner from Final Round.

Trust me, I *would* be saying goodbye to SF4 if SSF4 was out on the PC.
