More details on the Super Street Fighter 4 e-Capcom Special DVD being put together for Japan

What Capcom is putting together for the e-Capcom Special DVD is truly awesome. This DVD is included with one of Japan's collector's editions for the game. It will have a recorded tournament featuring some of Japan's top players, both with SF4 characters and also with Super SF4 characters. It will also include videos of those same players performing the game's trial challenges. Since I'm not a pro myself, I'm interested in this (see below for why).
Azrael translated all of this from the e-Capcom Japanese site, so big thanks go out to him for once again being a true ace for the community!
Azrael: There will be a tournament featuring 8 of the best SFIV players included on the DVD. The bracket is as follows:
Umehara (RY) vs Itabashi Zangief (ZA)

Shiro (AB) vs Momochi (AK)

Tokido (AK) vs Kindevu (RU)

Iyo (DH) vs Nuki (CH)

Azrael: There will also be a tournament featuring only the new characters in SSFIV. The players were given a chance to train up before the tournament, and apparently they became quite skillful with them. As for who used who, that will be kept secret so look forward to seeing it in action on the DVD.
COMBO TRIAL VIDEOS
Azrael: The top players also recorded the last half of the hard challenge mode trials. The camera gets both the video and their hands in motion. There is an image showing which player was responsible for which character -
Umehara - Ryu, Ken
Nuki - Chun, Sakura, Guile
Tokido - Akuma, Guy, Dudley
Kindevu - Rufus, Juri, Viper
Momochi - Makoto, Ibuki, Gen, Honda
Shiro - Abel, Balrog, Cody, ?
Iyo - Dhalsim, Cammy, Dee Jay
Itazan - Zangief, T.Hawk
FuriousRGD: Here are a bunch of pictures showing the process of capturing the challenge mode trials. It is very neat that they also show the hands of the players as they do the combo trials. Personally, I'd love to be able to see, compare and contrast how these different pro players execute their moves.

Thas right... Daigo using my Femme Fatale TE <3
Is that really Nuki? The same 3s player? He has put on some weight last time I saw him on youtube.
lol great first two comments. "see! im no scrub cuz daigo use my girl stick!" and "OMGZ he might beast me at sf but at least im not that fatt nerd1!"
This special edition is really unprecedented for fighting games. I hope that I can get my hands on this in America somehow... Seth Killian, I'm looking at you!
No offense Markman, just playin around. ;)
i just want the juri movie. dont care for the rest of the extra stuff.
Yeah, well, so what who cares? We got FINGER PUPPETS!!!!
judging from the kanji, daigo is playing with gouken as well. would be awesome if he plays him as one of his main :D
also the last char for shiro looks suspiciously like sagat? :P
Seriously... we get Finger Puppets?.. Seriously?..
damn it i wish the states could get this stuff too
I thought in a previous translated post, it said Momochi was using Makoto
anybody else pre-ordering the japan edition + Canadian edition (=P)?
I see a 'most torrented game addition' award going to this DVD... shame.
HAUNTS! i challenge you to a game of super finger fighter 4!
i know i'd never beat Diago in a game of street fighter 4 , but i'd REFUSE to lose to him using the femme fatale stick! I would just rage quit. Not really though.
Tokido is playing my main man Guy AND Dudley? Lucky bastard!
If shiro's playing Hakan, he's good enough for me.
People, as haunts so kindly pointed out. Finger puppets! Fingers are used to hit buttons, so puppets for these fingers can only make hitting those buttons better. Every one loves a fucking puppet too. The freaking muppets get so much ass its crazy. Translate that over to your life. The gals love a finger puppet. It shows off that Wit.
Blow jobs incoming.
@ Spiron, Haunts
lol
man if the us does not top this i'm totally importing this
fuck it i want the finger puppets lol
That'd be hilarious if the Japanese fans look at our "bonus" from Gamestop and say "DAMN!!! I WANT those puppets" o_O. Shit ya'll want mine??
But damn this bonus is seriously sweet. I like how they're implementing something for gamers by gamers. I like playing the trials and it's cool how they're recording the joystick inputs as well. Lucky!!!!
Seth Killian answered one of my questions on Unity, when I asked why all of this cool stuff for other regions and thumb wrestlers for USA? His reply, in short, was "different strokes for different folks", and added that he wasn't sure were the idea came from.
Too bad so sad for us American SF fans. Guess they think we don't like cool stuff I.E, shirts, tourny vids, movies, sound tracks, dlc, iPhone covers etc etc etc. At least we get a sweet game.
in all seriousness, the japanese love quirky stuff like the finger puppets so I am sure some of them are probably jealous and will want to get their hands on them. i mean shit, they can go to the arcade and see these bums fight any day of the week so it's probably no big deal. LOL
I hope they added the option to choose your opponent for trials. I hate Dan being the default for every single trial.
@brenttiscool Technically speaking it may have to do with the hit box since he's an average size character. But I feel it's fitting because he's the "joke" character. They even have him wearing his sparring pads alt in trial mode now!!! (See bottom right photo Gen trial)
Finger puppets. I'm still not over that. Finger puppets.
I've even read some people defending the finger puppets on forums, saying that in twenty years they'll be collector's items worth money.
The only thing in twenty years a dealer is going to give somebody with them is a bullet and a gun so they can shoot themselves in the face for being dumb enough to think these lame ass finger puppets would be worth anything at any point in history.
With that said, I look forward to all future streams after Super's release to involve 100% more puppet shows.
The Japanese special edition does look sweet, however, all I really want is the anime. The pros doing the trials is a good idea, but some of the other known players like Alex Valle, Ryan Hart and Justin Wong also should have been included just to show the international flavor fo Street Fighter.
I am still holding out and hoping beyond hope that we get this here. Apparently Japanese companies don't think Americans enjoy, you know...cool shit. Like, REALLY COOL SHIT. Gah...
The serious reason they tried to give for why we dont' get this is "different strokes for different folks?!" That's...almost insulting.
Oh well, at least we all know this will be on youtube 20 minutes after it's released...
