« WEEKEND TOURNAMENT RESULTS »

This weekend there were a number of major tournaments literally all over the world and so here are the results for GodsGarden 2, World Game Cup and the Tekken 6 Global Championship Finals. I've also included some results for some North American tournaments such as Battlefield Arcadia and the Keystone II Scrubs Garden 2v2.

GODSGARDEN 2

First off, big thanks to Oichi from VersusCity for the GodsGarden 2 update, and be sure to congratulate him on winning the beginners tournament at this event! He has some additional notes and comments on the event at VersusCity so check out this post to read about his experiences at GodsGarden.

By the way, the first thing I said to myself when I saw these results was: "What happened to Mago?"

GodsGarden 2 Main Tournament
1. Tokido (Akuma)
2. Uyro (C.Viper)
3. Mizoteru (Blanka)

Console Tournament
1. Momochi (Cammy)
2. Dashio (Fei-long)
3. Kinpatsu (Seth)

Beginners Tournament
1. Oichi (Honda)
2. Abelity (Abel)
3. Tie: Nick/Mike (M.Bison/Blanka)

WORLD GAME CUP

The major fighting game tournament in Cannes concluded recently with some interesting results. Those of you who see Daigo as "indestructible", the outcome of the tournaments here may surprise you. Thanks to Rice Eater from NeoGAF for the update.

Street Fighter 4 Singles

1. Fuudo
2. Daigo
3. Luffy(French Rose player)

Other SF4 tourney results

SF4 2v2 Tourney: Japan 1 (Eita/Daigo)
SF4 Master Series:  Eita

TEKKEN 6 GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS

Those of you who checked out the Tekken 6 live stream last night already know the outcome of this one, but before we get into results it's important to know how this tournament was set up. Basically, there were two champions for this tournament because separate tournaments were held for both PS3 and XBOX360. The 360 champion is the Korean Steve player Nin and the PS3 champion is Korean Heihachi player JDCR. Thanks to SDTEKKEN for the results, and check out their front page for more details on the results.

If you're curious how the North American players fared, Glenn from GetYourTournament has the results:

Aris: 2-2
MR NAPS: 2-2
ChetChetty: 0-2
Insanelee: 0-2

Also worth mentioning, there were reports from Aris that there was more than 8ms of lag on the monitors. Apparently this is not the first time these major Tekken 6 tournaments have had monitors with a major amount of lag so lets hope they get this cleared up in the future.

BATTLEFIELD ARCADIA XII

FADC was back in action this weekend streaming Battlefield Arcadia which showcased top East Coast talent such as Sanford, Shine, Aquasilk and Rahsaan. Here are the results courtesy of Triforce on SRK.

STREET FIGHTER 4

1st - Sanford "Santhrax" Kelly (Empire)
2nd - Rahsaan (Empire)
3th - Kreymore (Empire)
4th - Aqua
45h - Mariodood
5th - Aulord
7th - Shine
7th - InsaynNe

KEYSTONE II SCRUBS GARDEN 2v2 TEAMS

..and finally, the results of Keystone II this weekend in NorCal. First off, thanks to everyone who tuned in -- we ended up broadcasting at the last minute, giving a handful of players waiting for the GodsGarden2 stream something to watch.

This was a fun 2v2 tournament, and like others in the past, the teams were decided randomly. I was teamed with top El Fuerte player Buktooth and we did decently well before being taken out by John Choi. Surprisingly though, John Chois team did not win the tournament, and instead C. Viper player Chris Z and Boxer player CJ Showstopper ended up taking it all.

If you're interested in checking out the stream footage, the recordings can be viewed at our USTREAM Channel.

1. Chris Z (VI) & CJ (BA)

2. Goteku (ZA) & John Choi (RY)

3. Haunts (SA) & Buktooth (EL)

Team haunts taking 3rd! Man Daigo in second eh? and a french rose in third? i need to see some of that footage.

Happy also that shine got back out there. I hear hes like 15-16 or something and to place with all those killers like he has twice now is nothing to snooze at. I hope he is teching throws now tho!

I was watching Shine play on the stream -- that dude is crazy! Also Sanford is like unbeatable on the EC, his Sagat is really good. Saw him Kara uppercut an Akuma who was recovering from a teleport. I think Rashaan was playing Akuma.

Daigo no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay Evo rematch?

@haunts Sanford has won i think 5-6 battlefields in a row now. He basically can add those tourneys as bankable income now. Its easy to throw the term Best what ever in the county around, but if his Sagat is not the best then at the worse it is tied with someone else. Will be interesting to see how super changes Sagat and if Sanford keeps beasting with him heading into evo.

Also said it before and i will keep beating the Drum, Sagat while crazy good is damn hard to win with at tourneys, cause every one practices that match up. I personally think more then any other match up.

A Rose player taking 3rd is an interesting change of news.

SCRUBS GARDEN was a fun watch.

Sanford might have the best sagat in US. but Godsgarden shows us taht Sagat is very free against great Akuma.

i guess it doesn't matter since there is no crazy Akuma in the EC, and SSF4 is coming out here, Akuma might lose that lp lp into loop.

I need to see footage of that Rose player from France. Dude must have crazy skills to place third in a tourney with Rose of all people.
