« BLAZBLUE OUT FOR EVO! MELTY BLOOD AND MVC2 IN! »

"Congrats to the Melty Blood community who has won the vote for the final game at Evo 2010. Melty Blood won with a decisive 27% of voters and will have their game added to the lineup of Evo 2010.
What do you all think about Melty Blood being at EVO? Would you have rather seen Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike as I would?
Well, for those of you who may have been upset that Marvel did not make it, the EVO has a surprise for you there as well:
"We are also making one more change to our 2010 lineup. After conferring with the BlazBlue community we have decided to replace BlazeBlue with Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the PS3. Big thanks to the BlazBlue community for graciously stepping down."
Makes sense -- BlazBlue: CT at this point is a dead game with many top players dropping the game completely due to now having access to Continuum Shift. It's available at many arcades in fighting game hotspots around the country and...other means as well so playing an outdated version of the game makes no sense.
With a slew of new games on the roster this year, you can expect EVO2K10 one of the most unique and possibly hypest EVO yet! See you there!

For as much as I like 3S and CvS2 (moreso CvS2), I'm excited that Melty Blood has an official slot this year. The game is fun to watch* and appreciably different from the other games that'll be there. The fanbase is dedicated and have shown to be just as GET HYPE! about their game as any other community and the contrast in game styles between MB and SF makes for better diversity in the course of the event. My congratulations to the MB community, and I hope the best for the event as a whole.
All the people hating on MB and being salty that their game didn't make it need to man up and come out in force for their game to show EVO and the weaboos/lolicons/nerds/whatever other insulting term you can come up with that you have that same passion for your game, if not more.
Hopefully the inevitable port of BBCS makes it out in time that they can consider putting that game in alongside the other events. I would have loved to have Hokuto no Ken and VF5R in the lineup too, but a man can dream, right?
*I'm secretly hoping that some publisher sees MBAA at EVO and decides to give the game a US release so I can actually play it.
Wait...what? Melty Blood has a strong US following? Strong enough to be at EVO?
Really?
Why do I get the feeling EVO got punked?
I'm not complaining but...it deserves to be there more than BB?
Really?
Is anyone who plays Melty Blood gonna actually be there?
Shoulda been the new Pokemon that's coming out.
sad that blazblue is out for evo :(
We're sad that BB:CS hasn't been announced soon enough for a US release, otherwise we would've tried to keep it, but we know there won't be that much hype for CT cuz of CS. Maybe if we find out CS IS gonna come out beforehand it could be a side tourney maybe.
But I'm glad MB got the ticket, I think it's great to try and rep different games.
Wow than you for that "...other means" comment, I had no idea the game was playable that way. I've been interested in BB for a while but didn't have anything to play it on. Now I think I do. =)
melty blood has an incredible following in the us.

and bbct is not worth running, at all- this is coming from someone who would love nothing more than to have bb represented at evo. there'll still probably be a cs side tourney, which is fine by me.
I can't help but agree with that 'punked' comment, am I understanding this right?? NO 3S, marvel barely made it, and melty blood gets voted in "decisively"?!
...huh?

the only games to out-attend mbaa at necx were sf4 and t6.
