« Super Street Fighter 4 pre-order bonuses revealed  »

Depending on where you buy Super Street Fighter 4 from, all you aspiring world warriors will be privy to different pre-order bonuses.

If you pre-order from Amazon (360/PS3) or Best Buy, you'll get the "Super Classic Costume" pack DLC for free. This pack features the new alternate cosumes for Dhalsim, Guile, Blanka, Gen, and Fei Long. Head over to Games Radar for a look at all the alternate costumes in this pack.

If you decide to pre-order from GameStop, you'll get a pack of "Super Thumb Fighters." The packs are randomly distributed, and feature Ryu/Ken, Zangief/El Fuerte, Juri/Chun-Li, and Deejay/Blanka. The boxes also come with instructions on the back to re-enact your favorite Street Fighter fights. How that's supposed to work...I have no idea! But they could certainly make for some interesting thumb wrestling sessions, I suppose.

If you have a SRK account and live outside North America but still want to pre-order the game, then keep an eye on this thread to keep up to speed on all the pre-order deals in your area.

So what pre-order items will you opt for? The free DLC, or the thumb-wear?

Haha I was just wondering what the pre order bonus would be! My birthday is in early april so I was gunna be droppin hints for that pre order haha
I would want the dlc for sure, especially with my main's alt in there! I'm collectors are gunna wanna grap those thumb mittens but its random and you only get, and they don't have all the characters! So fat chance on getting you favorite character's face on you thumb with those.

I'm getting the dlc for sure, most likely from Best Buy.

Am I losing my mind or somthing? I thought this Costume pack was already announced as Free at launch. If I'm correct, how is that a preorder bonus?

Please clarify. And, any word on bonus for prior sf4 owners? And WTF is up with the thumb wrestlers? Another Ghaspon would have ruled, a differnt color headban woulda been good, or for GODS sake team up with NECA to make the extras! ThumbWrestlers? Fail!

February 24, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterHello?

Fail... Best Buy is usually the one with crappy pre-order bonuses... Oh, how the tables turn. There must be something about the Super Thumb Warriors we don't know, otherwise... I'm going with Best Buy.

I thought so too, but I guess it's only free...if you pre-order from certain stores.

This comment from Grant over at Capcom Unity makes it sound like the DLC could be exclusive to folks who pre-order. As in, you won't be able to buy it at all (like that's gonna happen, though).

But yeah, you're not the only one that's a little confused. Hopefully we get some clairification of some kind from Capcom on this.

God, there's only one best buy store in the entire city (Montreal) and it's in the middle of freakin' nowhere.

Gonna have to head down there sometime soon, it seems.

On one of the Japanese blogs it said that the DLC would be free for anyone up until July 1st, after which time you would have to pay for it. I guess that was only applicable to people in Japan...

I would be the one to pre-order from Gamestop. How about I sell my thumb wrestlers to someone and use it to get costumes. Well I bought the last set. That $20 I saved for it not being full priced basically goes to that. Oh crap, there's 10 MORE characters!!! =P

February 24, 2010 | Registered CommenterNagglepuss

That's right! That's what the post said, but it didn't say Jpn only. I really don't mind paying for stuff, hell I would have payed 80/100$ for a good CE. But to say it's free then change it is kinda BS!

February 24, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterHello?

I already ordered SSF4 before this news came up :/

I pre-order from gamestop.

The Thumb warmers are clearly for button mashers lmao

Weren't the Classic Alt Pack free already? I thought Capcom said everyone will get the 1st pack
free on the 1st week via network.

I love me some SF. And Super looks amazing. That being said, This launch just keeps getting worse and worse.

First, we had no idea what versions were going to be available, or "bonus" for origonal sf4 owners.

Second, the Juri movie becomes X-box jpn exclusive?!?

Third, prev announced free DLC becomes Preorder exclusive?!?

And the final blow at this point is the Thumb things.

@LOST I see that
"If you're into DLC, you can get the pre-order timed-exclusive "Super Classic Costume" pack featuring alternate costumes for Dhalsim, Guile, Blank, Gen and Fei Long."

The optimist in me wants to think that it's another set of Alts for them, so 4 costumes total for those characters bit SUPER doubt that.

Any one have word on what's up with the first set of alts? Do you get it on super if you bought it? Back to the optimism I would LOVE it just be in if you have SFIV

And game stop is prolly PISSED they got the thumb fighters ahahaha

@Shway

Oh, whoops, haha. I either missed that part when I was writing this article, or they added that in after I asked them about it. But I proooobably just missed it.

I'm new here so I deserve a mulligan or two though, right? :)

If I lived in a city with a Best Buy I'd probably still go for the thumb puppets. They're neat in a cheesy little way, and I like stuff like that. But unfortunately the city I live in doesn't always get pre-order bonuses, I dunno if it's the EB Games stores here or the city itself but I've missed out on a alot of bonuses; it's not that they forget, it's just that they don't get them. Hopefully I'll get the puppets, and hopefully Capcom will do an all in one discounted costume pack like in SFIV. That was nice.

If I do get the puppets I hope I get the Dee Jay and Blanka one, that one looks the nicest to me, my second choice would be Ryu and Ken, but I'd be happy to just get a pack.

So anyway, I'm actually gonna go against the grain and get the thumb fighters I think. I like little gimmicky toys like that, and I'm gonna end up getting the inevitable "all in one" costume DLC anyway.

February 24, 2010 | Registered CommenterLost

@LOST
Oh, I didn't think I was correcting you haha just pointing out the part you were referring too and agreeing with you actually... I think haha And props to going against the grain! I don't care for them haha Be sure to let us know the full story on them!

February 24, 2010 | Registered CommenterShway

I'm not knocking anyone who digs the thumb puppets, but damn...first round we had the option of getting a coin (through game crazy) or a headband (gamestop). Now thumb puppets.

When you look at the pre-order bonuses a lot of other games get, thumb puppets, headbands, and and coins seem like the companies are barely even trying to pander us.

PANDER ME, FUCKHOLES.

I want to be swayed by RC Blanka-mobiles.

I want to be enticed by a Zangief foam muscle suits.

I'll even take a T-shirt. Those're cheap to produce.

Maybe SF night vision goggles. Even that makes as much sense as thumb puppets. And if you're gonna give me puppets, give me a muppet.

I dunno, anything grander than headbands, thumb puppets, and coins. Make this an actual choice.

The alts are ok, but it falls under the same situation the costume pack I got for free in the collector's edition last time: I don't use any of those characters.

February 25, 2010 | Registered CommenterMonsterGoGo

I'm totally stoked i'll be getting stupid thumb wrestling cotumes

OH WAIT NEVERMIND, IM NOT

February 25, 2010 | Unregistered Commentertenyardmike

You know, even exclusive Icon(s) and/or Title(s) would be great. Or kinda like how you get a hat in Team Fortress 2 if you preordered Left for Dead 2 give us a Ryu esque head band for our little avatar dudes, or some hadouken animation.

February 25, 2010 | Registered CommenterShway

hum interesting my favourite one is the zangief and fuerte one.

November 6, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterimran qureshi
