Does anyone know the difference between these sticks and the old TE ones (besides the artwork)? Are they the same size as the old ones?
They look pretty similar. But i wish they'd put those start/select kill switches! I know i don't get crazy enough on them to have it go off, but we won't have another john choi evo moment if they did.
I believe besides the cosmetics of the stick the same parts are used (sanwa). I heard they were going to add the kill switch for the start/pause but that may just be a rumor or me going crazy.
Damn, son. Them's colored buttons be hella ugly!
Man I really wanted to wait for this but I already bought a TE stick. There's not too much more they can do to the sticks beside cosmetics so I'm not too sold on these sticks yet. Also the black one looks like they dropped the ball in regards to the art. Also the red font color for the buttons look off. They should have used inverted colors for each stick. Oh well!
amazon.com won't ship to Canada :(
Yeah, the colored buttons don't look very good =/ I was getting annoyed with the color buttons on the fightpads when I was ordering mine but they look alright on the guile pad 'cause most the colors are in the art anyway but it looks better with the ps3 black/gray buttons.
I just got a SE back on that sale and just put some sanwa parts in it so I'm perfectly content. In my realm of logic any one who has a TE already and cares enough about the looks to consider the new art work, will probably have custom art work already so another box with the same parts isn't gunna appeal to them much. I really only see collectors and people who don't have a TE yet picking this one up.
Then again, there IS hella hype haha
Thank goodness the colored buttons are only for 360. Ps3 is pure grey/black.
I too would love a link to a good comparison review between the original TE and this one.
i was hoping for the white one to look like the asian te with the white base...
damn, and i just bought a round 2 stick..if you already have one i think this is pointless..the sticks are the same, same sanwa parts..if you guys are interested at all gamestop dropped the price of the marvel vs capcom 2 TE stick to $99..again same stick but the art work is the best by far
I'm very happy with my round 2 TE stick, I just finished modding it this pasts week.

On Amazon the PS3 buttons are 6 black/gray buttons and 2 white and black ball top. I thought they dropped the multicolored scheme as a whole unless Markman just showed the PS3 stick. But anyway they should drop it!!! It terrible. Aside from that there's just more real estate for the artwork. I'm pretty sure they perform just the same. If they come out with SE sticks I'm sure they'll be better.
I always had ideas to mod my stick. I use a Round 1 TE so all I would really do would is change the artwork and button and ball top colors. But I never really had the time. Plus that red rail around the artwork I wouldn't know how to change that. I always wondered if it was vinyl. I think these would be easier to make into a personal project since there's no real that I have to worry about painting and I'll want to try and dual mod it as well. I'm sure it's just the same inside.
IMO I think the Round 2 is the best of the TEs that aren't limited edition. The first ones had a generic graphic and the MvC2 stick artwork is too busy and I'm not feeling the yellow buttons.
@wetworker
Nice artwork! I just got designing mine and I just need to go get it printed and lami labeled at kinkos or some place
I wonder if madcatz has some sort of agreement with microsoft to keep the color button scheme =/ only reason I can imagine they'd stick with it
does anyone know if these will be on sale at gamestop stores?
man i want one but i don't need one. already got two DIY customs, but they do look nice. i hope once these are out the old te's drop in price. (in my dreams :( )
@SHWAY. Thanks!!!
March 12th? is this right? *buy*
yo, the lock switch does LOCK the Start & Select/Back buttons now.
SHWOOOOP
Thanks markman
GASP IT'S MARKMAN!
oh... he's gone again... I GOT HIS GUM!!! YES! TO EBAY!
Interesting Mr. Markman, interesting. That feature alone could = a purchase. I also just want to have a bunch of sticks. I want to be like a crazy cat person, except with sticks.
not a fan. i think the old TE's look better. These look like garage made arcade sticks to me. :/
