Home Version of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Announced! July 1st! New Features!

New information on the home version of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift has come to light, including some details about new features and a release date!

Arc System Works made the announcment at the Blue Fes Spring Raid event in Shinagawa, Japan, with Dengeki Online providing coverage information and photos (hit the link for their coverage story along with event pics).  All images in this post courtesy of Dengeki Online. See original story for a few more pics.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift will be released in Japan for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on July 1st for 7,140 Yen.  No release date information for other territories has been reported, but with luck it will be very close.

The home version will feature a third new character (u-12) and will also feature the following modes: Tutorial, Arcade, Versus, Score Attack, Training, Challenge, Legion, Story, Gallery, Replay Theater, and Network.

The game's producer, Toshimichi Mori, along with the game's sound producer, Daisuke Ishiwatari, also mentioned that the game has double the animated sequences of the original.  The challenge mode has over 300 challenges and the story mode found in Calamity Trigger's home release is also returning with over 28 stories.

A limited edition was also announced at the event, bundling in a visual book and a Noel Nendroid figure. Pricing for the bundle is set at 9,660 Yen.

Think I'll not bother with the EU version of CT until I see when this ones coming out in europe :P Good marketing strategy!

at the risked of getting flamed, i have to say i really want to get into this game but at times i almost feel there are too many fighters out there(not a bad thing), and this one is good and has a lot of depth. i know like the first one i will prob end of getting it but not giving it the attention it really deserves. blame it on ssf4. when that comes it'll be a big enough time sink.

YES! Some of the best news I've heard all year. Has a date, though it's a Japanese one instead of American, and it's so good to see this "Challenge" mode looks just like SF4's Trial mode. However frustrated I was with Trials in SF4, I know they do a lot to improve a person's skill so I'm very happy they're in my favorite fighting game now. Continuum Shift can't come out soon enough.

This is great news, calamity trigger came out in japan and in america 5 days apart, and with the popularity that the game in the states it should come out not far from the japan release date, well I hope so anyway.

We in Australia don't even have Calamity Trigger yet...

It's OK D, we in the EU (not on PS3) don't have Calamity Trigger yet %_%
Although I'm concerned at the dropping of that part of the title and calling it just BlazBlue, what then will they call continuum shift? Will we be having it as BlazBlue2?

With the recent success of the first installment here in the states, Continuum Shift will most definitely be making yet another US appearance! .... (crossing the digits that I didn't just hex it)

Considering all the top players like Mike-Z, BangCamero, and plenty of others are already playing plenty of Continuum Shift at those arcade invites, you can bet CS is going to sell big at least within it's established community. Let's hope the fanbase does grow even more, though. I'd love to see more people around to play. I think the somewhat increased roster might help that some. It seems a lot of people need quantity in their fighter's roster before they'll even take a look at the quality.

Can't wait. I'm hoping to actually get into this one more than I did Calamity Trigger (was just a busy time in my life, its an AMAZING game)

Does anyone get the feeling that in designing Mu-12, somebody thought, "You know what Calamity Trigger lacked? Huge, over-the-top weapons! Let's fix that."

Didn't a famitsu say that this game was coming out in June? or was that one mistaken?

not enough time to log in. Choysauce, they must have changed it (or at least finalized a specific date). I think "June" was a timeframe not a date. 1 July is as close to June as you can get and still not be June lol.
