« MVC3: 100% Dante Combo by Marn »

So, you want to see something really cheap? Many of you may be aware of this, but SCR was the first time I've seen this combo. Marn pulls this off with Dante by using the X-Factor after a corner combo, which as you'll see will kill off one character in a single combo in the video below.

Over the weekend I saw other variations of this combo with Marn bringing in Trish -- and even Super Skrull if I recall -- after the initial Super which is almost as devastating. I can't imagine this combo making it into the final game, but its still worth checking out if you haven't seen it yet.

What do you guys think? Are you hype about high damage combos or are you looking forward to the Capcom nerf train?

Thanks to Kapwan and RaYzYrbYrn for recording these videos.

I personally think Marvel needs touch of death combos for it to be Marvel. Its probably best if they are meter dependent and situational but still I love it.

I like them, but I don't think they should be doable so early in the round. Maybe just reduce the meter gain from the combo leading up to them or something.

The Hulk's combo is pretty hilarious.

In earlier builds, wasnt the X-Factor only available on your last character? Seems like that would be the way to go to prevent stuff like this but I dunno. I like the insta kill combos as well.

those combo are probably easy to do :/ which is broken

November 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterCloudius

strangely, since it's marvel, it's not too broken. Killing one character is like doing a 30% combo in another game. You still have 2 other characters.

Ya i just dont like that its so easy :/ I heard some rumors that X-factor was possible in the air in different builds but prolly wont stay that way

x-factor is dumb. it seems like you shouldn't be able to use it to cancel hyper combos. that's where all this shit is getting fucked up.

mvc2 touch of deaths usually involved one or two dhc's that needed to match up well and combo after the dhc, so your team needed to be created with this in mind. yeah, storm->sent lucked out in this regard, but most teams weren't that lucky. now its like it doesn't matter what your team is, you can kill in one hit as long as you can activate x-factor without any teamwork whatsoever. its almost like playing a game of CotA 3/5 rounds, or cvs2 with no round breaks.

and whats more of a shame about the whole team thing is that it seems like you can do more damage with one character with x-factor than any dhc combo i've seen so far, but i admit i haven't been watching too many of these videos.

in general, i dislike the x-factor system from what i've seen. its basically marvels "fadc", cept you will eventually only use it on hyper combos, and its designed precisely for easy-peasy character killing. i don't mind big damage, but let it be the result of a robust system being taken to that point. this is just a dumb system that is trying to "sf4" another capcom game. first marvel did well from competitive to casual without sacrificing any demographic; x-factor is gonna lead to so many heartbreaks around the board as it is now.

The problem is not that there are 100% combos, but that they are so damn easy.

November 10, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterotter

Ok so like i don't know about the Dante one but that Hulk one looked so fucking easy. Like day one live scrubs like me easy to pull off. I feel hey its Marvel screw it there should be broken stuff. Just not easy and broken.

someone needs to send these vids to capcom unity mvc3 board so the dev's can see them and make sure something like this doesnt end up in the final product....

November 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterCBX101

@cbx101 I am sure that the developers know that this kind of stuff exists.

I think X-Factor really needs a tweak. S-Kill has said that he's played different builds where it does different things. I would like it if it just reset damage scaling, therefore it's good to extend combos and basically that's it. No red health bonus, no damage boost. Just scaling reset.

Whether or not something is hard means nothing to whether or not it's broken. MvC2 has braindead easy one touch deaths too.

November 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDoom

That said, the game isn't even out yet. Stop crying.

November 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDoom

Sorry, for the triple post, but how is this seriously any worse (or harder) than double snap kills?

November 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDoom

I agree sub-tl, the mechanic is just giving easy mode fadc into huge damage. Personally I dont mind its other applications though, for one it can get you out of an unsafe move you may have mistimed, and in this game that move can mean the match. The mechanic right now seems to do too much, it gives you strength, speed, cancel ability, and regeneration. Thats just too much but it also leads me to think that its not going to be like that in the final build they are merely tacking on all these powerups and see what sticks.

Personally if I could make it like I wanted, it would not allow you to cancel out of supers only normals ad specials. Also you would not get a speed boost, the game is fast enough but i know the devs want to make it have comeback factor so I'll take the damage boost over speed. With damage boost you still have to play the same game, seems like the speed boost makes some characters unblockable.

Doom- This isn't terribly different from double snaps, but did you really think double snaps where fair?

November 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMagus1234

If you can avoid it then it's fair. It was bullshit, yes, but it was fair.

I like Marvel 2. I really do. I think im going to like this game as well. But marvel fans are just so inconsistent.

In response to no infinites: "It's not Marvel unless it's broken!"

In response to this: "Game is broken. Do not want."

I mean, wtf? lol.

I personally dont really have a problem with double snaps. But losing/killing a character by double snap is just boring and stupid. At least this is an actual combo that looks alot harder to drop than just hitting standing RH with storm over and over.

Really, losing one character isn't that big of a deal in the world of Marvel anyway. I mean, yeah, it immediately changes the match, but it doesn't mean you lost. Remember: the next guy has an x-factor as well. He could possibly hit confirm into it and just as quickly kill one of the other guy's characters too.

But that is the essence of marvel. Marvel is about controlling the screen. You lose control, you lose one of your tools (characters/assists) in a heart beat.

that's one reason I loved (and hated) marvel 2 so much. Street fighter, Tekken and other games where have to make multiple mistakes in order to die are like fighting for sport with your hands.

Marvel is like a fucking SWORD FIGHT TO THE DEATH. You make one mistake, you lose an arm. It's downhill from there. IT'S FUCKING MAHVEL BAYBEH.

But I just find it strange that people are

November 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDoom

this is exactly why i dont really care for the VS games like marvel VS capcom. the combos get stupid ridiculous and there are always sets of characters that are noticeably better than the rest of the cast. theres no fighting game thats perfectly balanced or without glitches/bugs however the VS games that feature one button combo presses are the worse. does that mean i wont buy MvC3? no because it will be fun but i just cant take it serious thats all.

November 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterTheTHCGamer

it's mahvel baybee
