The position of the international VF community is one of uncertainty. Sega's neglect of it's worldwide fanbase has let the game's community lose prominence in the fighting game community at large and as a result, the game has faded from a once-prominent force in the international fighting game community to an obscurity.
If you are a fan of VF (or a fan of fighting games, really), it is in your best interest to let Sega know that we want to play VF5R.
How do you do this?
From the front page of VFDC:
A well known and respected VFer in Japan, Kamaage, was invited to meet with SEGA on the 28th January 2010. Leading up to this meeting, Kamaage approached VFDC with an opportunity to express our desire to have Virtua Fighter 5R ported to console directly to SEGA. He suggested we put together a document that explained a little about VFDC along with personalised messages from players in the community. If the document could reach 100 or so pages, then surely SEGA would be impressed, or so Kamaage thought!
After his meeting, Kamaage informed us that while the document was impressive, it simply wasn't enough. Kamaage now has another opportunity to pass our document to SEGA, but it must have more impact, at least 5x more! The new target is 500 pages!
How You Can Help!
Simply post a reply leaving a message expressing your desire to play VF5R on console. Feel free to share your VF playing history, why you like the game, etc. To lend weight to your message, please leave your real name, and your location along with your post.

Baby Jesus cries to sleep every night because VF5R isn't on console.
Hey look guys, it's E. Honda, and Remy... and Lei from Tekken!
I am a really big Virtua Fighter fan, I still play VF5 Online on the 360 and would love to be able to purchase Virtua Fighter 5 R for the 360
If Virtua Fighter 5R is released on PS3, I'll get it release day.
I'd love to play some VF5R on consoles, i love the VF series, and seeing how Fighting Games have been getting back in the mainstream, this would be a great opprutunity to make a push for it!
America has love for VF. Release VR5R
VF5R is hands down the best 3d fighter in the scene. Console port, please.
I hate to be so pessimistic about a game that I love dearly (I played VF5 religiously for about 8 months, dropping street fighter completely) but how many times have we done this? I hope this makes an impact but at this point I feel like SEGA just likes watching their fans squirm with anguish.
If SEGA is going by forum posts on wether or not they should release a game that is just ridiculous. I am not in anyway discrediting what the community is doing to get SEGA's attention, but seriously this is a slap in the face to all of us who have been waiting for so long for an update to this series and who bought VF5 for BOTH consoles when it was released.
VF5R is a beautiful game with some far more brutal combos and much better character designs than previous installment. VF5 had great netcode in my opinion so I think with the right kind of marketing the game would do very well.
On the other hand, at this point it's taken them so long, I'd rather them just release VF6 on console instead of getting R and seeing VF6 in arcades 6 months later or something and have to go through this all over again.
Honestly, I am on the brink of pulling a Michael Moore and rolling up to SEGA's offices which are right around the corner with a camera crew. My Goh vs any one of their bums that works in the office -- if I win they release VF6 on console, if I lose they release VF5R and we go through this again when VF6 hits japanese arcades..
I have VF5 on both the 360 and Ps3. I don't care which console. Just release the damn game please!
Haunts!
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaunnnnnnnntssssssssssssssss!
VF. NOW! This Weekend. Some weekend. DO IT. DOOOO IT.
I'll bring my Aoi/Eileen/El Blaze/Goh/Jeffry/Kage/Lau/Lion/Sarah/Vanessa/Wolf.
@haunts
how is it a michael moore if you actually accomplish something?
Ok the reason why VF5R doesn't get a console release is because the console versions mainly suit westerns. And you do have to take in account Japanese don't give 2 f@#!s about western. It is not a dislike but not a worry. Why you think Mr. Ono said that he fears the future of japanese gaming industry. Because they ignore everything in the west. This is why Blazblue and Street Fighter doing so well, they listened not just to the Japanese but the west as well.
Anyway I would love A VF5R release or the preferably the new final showdown version.
