Yowza. Give the man his props. A must see for all the players who want to learn Gen.
glorious sagat beatdown
While I understand wanting to root for an underdog, all I see from Gen is the same step combo over and over. I agree it's neat to see, but is that all the character has to offer ?
That aside, top players don't take the new console characters seriously, but none of the serious players use them. As soon as they become legitimate threats, then the top players will learn the matchups.
O-M-G. Freaking awesome.
Great vid, really cool shit. Man, I love these moments. HYPE!
@loldotcom
I agree. It's purely a match up issue. Yeb did well, but I know for a fact a number of players who he beat will go back to the lab and break down Gen.
For me, for whatever reason, I have a lot of match up experience with Gen and the key with Sagat is to use Tiger Knee as an anti air more often than uppercut. That stops him from getting in and doing that bullshit. :P
Sagat players get no love man, good to see Floe place well.
Sagat players deserve very little love.
@LessMercy
Why? Because hes one of the hardest characters to use at a high level?
HEY. Sagat... he's the best. OOOOH-WOOOOO-OOH-OOH-OOH-OOOOOOH.
Seriously though, Sagat is not as no-brained as people think. He just has some severely unbalanced matchups that are, in my opinion, counter-balanced by his lack of mobility and HUGE size. You don't see a lot of Sagats winning tournies, and that should tell you something about a character who's supposedly the best in the entire game.
@A_Rival
word
I really don't understand why everyone hates Sagat so much. so what if he's top tier, like everyone has said he hasn't won a major tourney. i dont even see him on top 8 that much either. I'm kinda sad, being a Sagat user having everyone hating on me for it.
I like pizza... and french fries, and E Honda...
Wat?
Want to sell kara Uppercuts! :))))
I'm a Sagat hater. I was cheering for Yeb the whole time and I'm glad he got rid of that Sagat.
sagat is hard to use at high levels? bull. any character requires work to get to high level but sagat, well the shotos in general are the easiest to master. try to get to high level play with c. viper or el fuerte. itll be a while before your confident enough to leave training mode. its not as easy as pummeling somebody with fireballs until they come in close for the tiger knee or shoryuken fadc ultra. not to mention the insane priority he and ken have. oh wah wah its so hard for us sagat players. yeah right.
@2dfmf
Generally speaking a half decent Viper or Fuerte will go much further than even a very good Sagat just due to the the fact most people are not as familiar with the match up. That is the whole point of me posting this video.
I wish it was easy as throwing a lot of Tiger Shots and just TIger Kneeing when they got close. :)
