Match between Daigo and Mago in a recent TRF Tournament. I'll let the play speak for itself.

That was pretty astounding. Only one super and one ultra throughout the entire game.
why didnt daigo hurricane kick through some fireballs?
yay ... fireball auto fire. sad sad sf4 ;(
@Fudd
The Hurricane Kick connecting within the ultra combo is pretty ridiculous. Thats some combo video shit right there.
I know and understand why they are spamming these FBs but come on now. This is getting ridiculous. Still, there was some great tactics on both sides to get out of the traps.
The mindgames are subtle, and are easily overlooked, but if you study their behavior during the match, you can sorta see their decisions when one of them approaches each other, followed by a short pause. Take note of the short pauses, which may see like their stalling for time, but its a sign of weighing their optimal option. Decision making at its best, really. Look at Daigo's footsie game involving the three c.mk, a tactic conditioning mago to a pattern. If mago badly anticipates another c.mk and answers with an uppercut, then Daigo succeeded in baiting mago. But i dunno. This is all theory fighting, and you all know theory fighting may sound right, but it hardly succeeds outside academia.
@richard
Amen.
There is nothing ridiculous about their fireballs in this match. This is a textbook match between two characters who are GREAT at zoning, and who are very good at being responsible with their fireballs. Anyone who is complaining about fireballs in a SF game doesn't know how to play SF at all. Period.
All these 3s guys crying about fireball wars. Did you guys ever play ST?
Great upload Haunts! But the hurricane kick is not connecting to the ultra, because its not possible. If you look more carefully you can see that Daigo gets hit by a low tiger shot right after his metsu hadoken, cancelling his ultra stun and allows him to perform an ordinary hard tatsumaki (or hurricane kick).
Okay I've rewatched the video a couple of times now and stopped QQ-ing. I've looked past the FBs and is really appreciating the mind games and how much pressure Daigo was putting on Mago to put him in the corner.
On both sides there was a really good usage of meter all around too. That's harder to do in the middle of the non stop pressure these two were going at it.
@supermoves
I know. :)
Many combo videos have "reset combos" like that where fireballs or other projectiles (Sean Basketball anyone? lol) reset the player so they can recover and follow up with more hits.
@Kioshen
You should check out more videos of Mago when you get a chance to see how he beasts on other Japanese players for free. lol.
both players to my opinion where at 110%
both are good.. but Sagat in this game owns... not that I play with him... u know... just been realistic.
they at capcom just made him the most umbalanced character of em all... but ken.... thats another story...
