« SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4 TO HIT ARCADES AFTER ALL? »

Ahh.. the rollercoaster of emotions that is Super Street Fighter 4.
Today CAPCOM updated their official website containing screenshots of Dee Jay and also the full trailer that most of us have seen by now featuring T. Hawk, Juri and Dee Jay. So, nothing too earth shattering on that front unless you were on the edge of your seat waiting for Dee Jay's bio.
With that being said, if you make your way over to the official Super Street Fighter 4 blog you will find some encouraging news -- it looks like they are fighting hard for an arcade release of Super Street Fighter 4 after all!
Here are a couple translations from SRK:
Sabin's Translation-
they dont give up sf4 arcade and they know ppl are crazy about sf4 now
and super sf4 is been made for both arcade and console and they are sure ppl can enjoy it both at game center and home
they are creating it without compromizing and fight everyday each other so "please expect and wait for it"

Similar to SF4, because the development staff is working as hard as possible without any compromise creating this game, please wait with hope!"
Probably not 100%, but it's all I can be asked to do at 2:00 am. lol
So there you have it -- looks like Super Street Fighter 4 may be coming to arcades in some shape or form after all. The only question at this point is: why does Yoshinori Ono like playing with our emotions so much!?

Another translation from Takari on SRK:
First part is about the new char, Deejay. 'Now the SFII cast is complete'
Second part is about the new trailer on the site. 'In motion!'
Third is about their fighting style, like DeeJay likes to talk shit [sousou, korekore!] while Juri is not only a Taekwondo fighter but also uses her left eye. 'Still in progress'
Fourth is about the tweaks on the exsisting 25 chars. Yes they will be tweaked, but the planners are having a very hard time with it. 'We are suffering'
Fifth is the big question, and they know about it, the arcade release. This game is made for consoles first, to offer not only strong opponents but also heated and wonderful fights online. However, the key sentence is ただ、アーケード版の可能性が絶対にないわけではありません。The possibility of SSFIV coming to the Arcade is not 100% out of the question, but 'we' all have to light a candle and make a big fire so Capcom can hear us (or see us). The part highlighted says Capcom won't abandon (vanilla) SFIV on arcades. (but the opposite might just happen) 'Arcade release is not out of the question'
Sixth part urges those arcade players to go for the console version, as it will DEFINITELY be fun. 'It will have the same impact as when SFIV was released'
Seventh part about the next update, nostalgic stories about SFII and backstories about SFIV. 'Plenty of interesting stuff'
So there you have it, more 'let your voice hear so we wil do it'-talk. Not looking very good, although they DO acknowledge the big concern regarding this matter.

CAPCOM STOP PLAYING WITH MY EMOTIONS!!
:(
Though I thought it was weird that Capcom wouldn't release it in arcades, Japan is all about arcades.
"Probably not 100%, but it's all I can be asked to do at 2:00 am. lol"
the sentence above leads me to believe that she was asked to post something on the blog to subdue the fan's anger over the no arcade release for SSF4.
how can I help?
@JuzJoe:
That's the translator's note, not something actually written on the blog.
the most important thing is to fix the imbalancing issues of the first game.and ofcourse attention to bugs, imbalances issues of the new game since they will added more than 7-8 characters inside.
we know from the expierience of other fighting games that too much cast of characters is the birth of new balancing issues.
for me this is the most important in a game a not the argue of an arcade release or not.
i dont want to see again EVO or SBO or SVB tournaments that players using 7 0r 8 characters only.
i want to see the full potential of the roster for SSFIV.
i want to see choices.choices to play every character u like in the game.
and not to be choices just from tier lists again.
sorry for double post but i want to ask something tha i forget.
is there any possibilty to launch the game earlier than spring or not?
You really should understand the tenants of logic better.
In the quote from the definitive source, it says:
Despite the use of the double negative ("isn't 100% certain" and "not get an arcade release") it means that it there is no absolute certainty that SSF4 will come to the arcades.
How do you derive:
From that? There is nothing in any of those statements to substantiate your claim
Sorry, I had written that originally for Sabin's translation and forgot to edit it after pasting in the second translation. Thanks for the heads up.
how should the community in America show that we want this to happen? is there gonna be like a petition or something? someone should organize something to make it happen
It's hard if not impossible to have a truly balance game. Think rock paper scissor but with 25 characters time at least 20 moves (standard and specials). I'm ok if matches turn out to be 6/4.
I think from a competitive stand point we need an arcade because we learn new stuff from the Japanese players and it's brew through intense arcade competition.
@Minphesto
sure thing about that=> "think from a competitive stand point we need an arcade because we learn new stuff from the Japanese players and it's brew through intense arcade competition."
but if the game will be still unbalanced then the more that we could learn is again more things from 7or 8 characters that Japaneese players are going to play.
thats why BALANCE comes first.
na, acrade release is definitely more important to me than balance. this whole fuckin series is turning into one huge fan service clusterfuck by adding so many damn characters. fuck balance. just let arcade players play.
i agree with you guys.we can learn many things from Japaneese players.
i hope to see more than 8 Tour playable characters this time.
and it will be an Arcade release after all!!!
