Even more NEW info on Super Street Fighter 4!

Looks like Ono loves giving interviews as of late because IGN just posted a new interview with him.

IGN also posted a new article called "Super Street Fighter 4 Blowout"

    • No more "Indestructible". Looks like they got a bunch of negative feedback regarding the song.
    • Juri is a "sinister" character
    • CPU Seth is going to be even harder.
    • All characters come pre-unlocked
    • Focus attacks will have different frame data.
    • Mentions that "joke characters" are an integral part of the Street Fighter universe.

Looks like Capcom is really paying attention to the fans for this release. This has me very excited but also concerned that the game is being rushed out the door in some way. Eight new characters? How could that possibly be balanced? Then again, Capcom can make miracles come true! So lets make it happen Capcom!

Also, I liked "Indestructible". You guys suck.

(Thank you to "HeartOfBattle" for the youtube version of the interview)

indestructible is now hard-wired into my brain. I don't think i will ever forget it I've heard it so many times. My wife says she dreams about it from hearing it so much from me playing, so this is good news for her.

Really I'm loving every bit of what I'm hearing from Ono on this. It really seems like they are taking fan feedback seriously.

And Haunts, I dont see this as a rush. They have a year to simply make tweaks, do research on balance, and add 8 to 10 more characters. Game engine, game mechanics, stages, art assets, etc are mostly re-used from SF4 so they have time to concentrate on just a few areas of the game to improve versus building a new game from the ground up.

It's safe to assume they started work on all this new content before SF4 was even released on console, and we're not seeing it in our hands until a still semi-vague Spring 2010 time frame--I don't see any rushing.

As for the song...you gotta be kidding me, man. When I first heard that song I honestly thought it was a joke...but then it just kept going. It might've been a little more bearable if it didn't saturate the menus.

While I've grown used to it, my girlfriend still cringes anytime she hears it. That is a hard song to defend.

The second half was awesome--here's hoping for some more of that.

    No Indestructible :(

Everything else is yay though, I really have no concerns about balance so long as Sagat isn't getting any real boosts. It really sounds like everything is in good shape, hopefully the new systems will allow the percieved underachievers shine a little brighter without breaking them.

Too bad, I liked the whole unlockable stuff. That had me going when I wasn't screaming and cussing over the online-mode.

I've been playing since launch and I still haven't unlocked Seth. I hate that character. haha

I excited about the release(particularly the new characters), but what does this mean for all the DLC from the original SFIV?

This. Ono even said in one of the other interviews that right after release there were still employees working on things, fixing things, adding things. They knew all along they were going to make a sequel, I'm sure they were hard at work the day they heard the sales numbers for the first day of release.

And seriously, indestructable was horrid, we don't need any singing in fighting game music. No indestructable, no be-ba-beats in my head, and no take me for a ride, just play the chill music without the annoying voices please and thank you.

awesome news generally.i hope for rebalancing of the game.
maybe this time Street Fighter proves that is the King of Fighting games.
    lets see.....can't wait.

They don't need to do ANYTHING to Sagat, I just realized how solid he is and he is one of the first Bosses of video game history and capcom acknowledges it(Street fighter boss 1985) The song can go, but it grew on me so I am not really bothered by it.

I agree with the guy who said they were working on this from the first week of sales. as for final fight characters, Jury's walk reminds me of guy and codys so lets see.

    Damn I love Capcom...

Its amazing but a lot more people like the song than I would have thought. I used to hate it, but after over 200 hours of play time it grows on you.

I think Capcom would be smart to add some sort of toggle in the options to turn it on if you are one of the peeps that likes it. It's an easy thing to do to make everybody happy assuming they have room on the disk. Perhaps DLC? It would be interesting to see how many people would pay to have it back! LOL!
