OVERVIEW

  • Gameplay revolves around landing a knockdown and playing intense mix-up games.
  • Run->Stop->Fierce (RSF) is one of the most dangerous combos in the game and is a guaranteed dizzy.
  • Very bad normals.
  • Extremely high mobility with his Run command.
  • Very situational ultra. (Usually punishing fireballs or used as an anti-air.
  • Low health and damage output.

RUN (FORWARD)

QUARTER CIRCLE FORWARD + PUNCH

Once you initiate the run you have many options. All distances on aerial attacks can be controlled with back or towards on the joystick.

  • STOP: LP
  • TOSTADA PRESS: MP (Overhead, Crosses up on wake up)
  • FAJITA BUSTER: HP (Throw)
  • BACK STEP: LK
  • GORDITA SOBAT: MK
  • CARAMALE SLIDING: HK (Low sliding attack)

RUN (BACKWARD)

QUARTER CIRCLE BACK + PUNCH

vs. Abel

  • Falling Sky can grab El Fuerte out of Tostada Press,  Fajita Buster, and Tortilla
  • Quesadilla Bomb beats Wheel Kick. It starts off slow enough to counter on reaction.  A well placed Back Run xx Tortilla is also effective.
  • Abel's Ultra gets beat by slide and low attacks
  • Ultra Setups
    • After properly guessing his Change of Direction combo
    • Ultra is immune to Falling Sky
    • After a blocked or missed Wheel Kick
    • After a blocked or missed Heartless (Super) or Soulless (Ultra)
    • During a Marseilles Roll just as he is passing you.

vs. Akuma

  • You are vulnerable to Demon if Akuma blocks Fuerte's Quesadilla Bomb
  • EX run can be used to get through Air Fireballs, but watch the timing.
  • Ultra Setups
    • After any projectile is fired from the right distance.
    • After teleport, but this is difficult because you’ll be guessing which way he’ll go.
    • After he reaches the peak of his Hyakkishu (Demon Flip). Warning, his kick and punch attacks post Demon Flip can kill the Ultra. You may be better off countering it with Guacamole Slew.
    • After jumping over Raging Demon (Super) and Wrath of the Raging Demon (Ultra)

vs. Balrog

  • Don't jump in on Balrog recklessly. His anti-air is very strong.
  • Ultra Setups
    • Basically, for all his specials, you need to master doing your Ultra on a Reversal. Some only give you a few frames, but there are some that will give you more. The same goes for his Super and Ultra, but you have more time if you dodge them.
    • Bait a Headbutt.
    • Dash Punches can be Ultra'd on Reaction.

vs. Blanka

  • Blanka's Verticall Ball is very troublesome for your wake-up tactics if you knock him down
  • Blanka's Surprise Forward and Back counts as being in the air so throwing him during a hop is troublesome.
  • If he slides too close to you, throw him.
  • Countering Blanka's Moves
    • Tortilla beats Blanka's electricity
    • The moment you block a Blanka Ball, Run xx Slide to punish!
    • Blanka players often use Rainbow Roll as a cross-up attempt. Don't play the guessing game. Focus it, dash forward, and punish him with Guacamole, slide, or Ultra.
  • Ultra Setups
    • After blocked Vertical Roll
    • After whiffed Rainbow Roll falls or just as he’s landing
    • During Electric Thunder
    • After blocked High Amazon Run
    • After blocked Ground Shave Roll (Super)
    • After blocked Lightning Cannonball (Ultra). Must be activated once he’s falling.
    • Note, once the super or ultra is blocked (when the roll is on the ground), you can return the stick to neutral.
